What is testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?
TRT is a treatment used to bring testosterone back into the normal range in men with diagnosed low testosterone.
How do I know if I need TRT?
Common symptoms of low testosterone may include fatigue, decreased drive, brain fog, mood changes, and other symptoms. Your Clover Provider will evaluate your symptoms along with your blood markers to determine whether TRT may be appropriate.
What are the qualifications for TRT?
You must be a male between 25 and 65 years of age who is experiencing symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency. Your provider will review your symptoms, laboratory results, and full health history to determine whether TRT is appropriate for you.

Can I use labs from another clinic?
Yes, if they’re within 3 months. They must include key markers like CBC, PSA and Total Testosterone.
Can I transfer my TRT care to Clover Meds?
Yes, we regularly welcome patients who are already receiving TRT from another provider.
If you're currently on TRT, elevated testosterone levels on your labs are expected and will be interpreted in the context of your current treatment. Our providers review your symptoms, lab markers, and overall health to determine whether to continue your current dose or make adjustments.
What is MCT oil and why use it?
MCT oil is the carrier oil in your injection. It's thinner than many carrier oils, so it draws easily and works with smaller needles.
How often do I inject?
Most men inject once or twice per week, either subcutaneous or intramuscular, depending on preference and comprehensive blood markers. Twice weekly generally helps keep levels more stable. We tailor the schedule to what works best for you.
What are the potential side effects?
Some men may notice acne, oily skin, mild water retention, higher red blood cell count, or testicular shrinkage (mitigated by Clomid). Fertility can also be affected. Less common risks include heart-related issues, sleep apnea changes, prostate concerns, or mood shifts. We monitor labs closely and adjust treatment if needed.
Can I do TRT if I want kids later?
Yes, but it needs to be managed properly as testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production. To help preserve fertility, we often use medications like Clomid alongside TRT to stimulate your body’s natural production. This approach helps maintain sperm count while still giving you the benefits of optimized testosterone.
Can TRT affect my mood?
Some men notice mood changes, including irritability. Your provider monitors your labs and how you're feeling, and adjusts treatment if needed.
Can I stop TRT anytime?
